How Clients Can Use the Calorie Counter in PT Distinction

PT Distinction’s new calorie counter makes it fast and easy for your clients to track their meals—whether they go through their dashboard, schedule (if you’ve scheduled it for them), or the logbook.

In this example, we’ll walk through using the logbook method.

Step 1: Open the Calorie Counter

  1. Go to the logbook.
  2. Select Calorie Counter.
  3. Look for the chef’s hat icon at the top—this is where all saved dishes are stored.

By clicking the chef’s hat, clients can:

  • View existing dishes
  • Create new dishes by pressing Create New Dish

They can also create dishes while adding meals, which keeps the process quick and seamless.

Step 2: Add a Meal for Tracking

To add a meal, follow these steps:

  1. Click the plus (+) button to add a new item.
  2. Select from:
    • Standard meals in the system
    • Custom entries your client has created

For example, selecting “Lunch” brings up options to define portion size:

  • Choose units like pieces, ounces, or grams
  • The system converts units to grams and calories automatically
  • Once satisfied, click Add

Clients can add multiple items to one meal as needed.

Step 3: Save and Reuse Dishes

Once a meal is created, clients can:

  • Click Make as Dish
  • Give it a name
  • Save it to their Dishes Menu

This allows for quick reuse of common meals like “Banana and Peanut Butter” or a regular breakfast combo.

When adding another meal (like a snack), they simply:

  1. Press Add
  2. Choose Dishes
  3. Select the saved dish (e.g., Banana and Peanut Butter)
  4. Choose number of servings (e.g., 2)
  5. Click Add and then Save

A Fast, User-Friendly Way to Track Nutrition

Once clients have a few dishes set up, tracking becomes incredibly fast and easy. They can log meals in seconds using saved dishes or add new items with just a few taps.
